Tony award-winning Filipino singer and actress Lea Salonga is set to perform at Dubai Opera on 22 & 23 September 2017. For those of you who might wonder who Lea is, here we give some short tidbits.
Lea performed as the singing voice behind Princess Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan. She won a Tony Award for her role as Kim in Miss Saigon and she is the first Asian actress to play Eponine in Les Misérables.
In August 2011, she was bestowed with the honour of “Disney Legend” for her portrayal of the iconic princesses, joining luminaries like Regis Philbin, Jim Henson (posthumously) and Anika Noni Rose. Lea is a pride of Filipinos for conquering the international stage and has inspired many for showcasing her talents to a worldwide audience.
