The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will conduct training on information technology, business management, and other fields this coming April 5 & 6, 2018. The 2-day training will be held in all TESDA branches around the Philippines.
The event is a great opportunity for returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to upgrade their skills. Similar to the livelihood program offered by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), it seeks to help OFW returnees get back on their feet.
TESDA to Conduct Training for OFW Returnees
TESDA Director-General Guiling Mamondiong urges OFW returnees, especially those who have come back from Kuwait, to join the Special National TVET Enrollment Day / Jobs Bridging for Construction and Information Technology-Business Process Management (IT-BPM).
Through a memorandum, Mamondiong stated that during the event, OFWs can enroll in various technical-vocational courses for free. They can also apply for jobs with TESDA partner companies that are joining the event, which includes construction and IT-BPM companies.
Aside from TESDA, other agencies are also expected to participate in the event, such as the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA), IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IT-BPAP), and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
