Not leaving a sufficient safety distance and busy while on the road .. The death of a driver and injury 6 in two incidents in Abu Dhabi
The driver of the “Rescue” died in a collision between three vehicles, while 6 people suffered minor injuries in another collision between 4 vehicles on the airport road.
Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Abdullah Yousuf Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Traffic Department at Abu Dhabi Police Department of Traffic and Patrols, said that the preliminary investigations attributed the causes of the accidents to the concern of the road while driving and not to leave sufficient distance between vehicles.
Al Suwaidi called on motorists and road users to take precautionary measures in an appropriate place that does not endanger the lives of dangerous road users, and not to be busy while driving, and to choose the right place to stand in emergency situations to avoid serious traffic accidents.
Al-Suwaidi called for non-gathering in the places of accidents, which would be dangerous to their lives. He said that the gathering of people about the incidents is an uncivilized behavior that may hinder the efforts of the rescue teams, and prevent them from reaching the site.
He called for the need to make way for ambulances and rescue to be able to access the scene of the accident and carry out its tasks quickly.
The Abu Dhabi Police Central Command Operations Command and Operations Center (ADPC) received two complaints from the two incidents on Monday evening and the Abu Dhabi Police Authority secured the site, planned the incidents and transported the wounded to the hospital.
