Google Launches New Feature for Jobseekers in the Middle East

Job hunting in the Middle East has just gotten easier for jobseekers in the region! Google has launched a new feature on its “Search” homepage that will make it more convenient for those who are looking for jobs in Dubai and nearby places, Khaleej Times reported.

Nowadays, if you enter a job-related query in Arabic, the main Google Search page will display a series of results. These will include information for each job position, such as salary, reviews, and employer ratings. You can also use a location filter to specify your preferred areas.

New Google Feature for Jobseekers in MENA

According to Google Trends, job-related queries in Arabic have greatly increased in the past five years. Specifically, data from 2017 indicates that job searches surge upward during the summer months. Meanwhile, jobs in education, travel, and nutrition trended in the UAE last year.

“Connecting people with the right job opportunities that match their skills and interests is an extension of Google’s mission to organise the world’s information and make it accessible to everyone,” stated Tarek Abdalla, Google’s Regional Head for Marketing in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

“This new feature on Google Search builds on the great work being done by regional job portals in connecting people with the right career opportunities,” he explained. “Furthermore, job seekers can be alerted by e-mail to opportunities that come up across multiple portals, thereby simplifying the process of finding and applying to jobs.”
