There’s no doubt about it… Dubai is filled with world-class Pinoy talent! Just recently, two renowned Filipino designers captured the audience with their creations at Arab Fashion Week!
From November 21 to 25, the prestigious fashion event was held at Dubai Design District and City Walk. Regional and international designers showcased their collections, including our very own Furne One and Michael Cinco. Let’s take a look at their glamorous creations!
World-class Filipino Talent at Arab Fashion Week
On November 21, Amato Couture presented their beautiful collection. This label was launched in 2002 by textile expert Rashid Ali and Pinoy designer Furne One. Their label has been worn by many celebrities, including Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and Katy Perry!
Recently, however, Furne One delighted all Filipinos when he announced that Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Big Winner — and now actress — Maymay Entrata would be featured in his show!
Indeed, the young actress made history as the first Filipina to walk the runway at Arab Fashion Week! Furne One shared that Maymay modeled gowns from his 25th anniversary collection:
On November 25, Filipino designer Michael Cinco closed the show. He is also known for designing gowns for famous personalities, including Lady Gaga and Rihanna!
At Arab Fashion Week, Cinco presented a gorgeous collection of dreamy gowns. Closing his show was none other than Miss Canada-Universe Marta Magdalena Stepien, who looked absolutely stunning in Cinco’s fiery red gown:
The beauty queen is set to represent her country in this year’s Miss Universe pageant. As a matter of fact, she will be wearing a Michael Cinco gown there, so we are definitely excited!
Aside from Furne One and Michael Cinco, several other designers graced the stage with their collections at Arab Fashion Week. Among them are: Yara Bin Shakar, an Emirati fashion designer; Sophia Nubes, a Switzerland-based label; Soraya Bacai, a Portuguese fashion designer; Tan Li Chen and Lin Yu Bo, the designer duo behind the THISNORTHAT label.
Congratulations, Furne One and Michael Cinco! Your beautiful creations make us proud to be Filipino.
