As the midterm elections in the Philippines draws ever closer, Filipinos overseas are constantly being reminded by their respective consulates to cast their votes early while there’s still time left. And as the overseas absentee voting (OAV) runs for a whole month until the actual day of elections in the Philippines (May 13), officials from various embassies are busy coming up with activities and awareness campaigns to ensure that all registered voters within their domain are able to cast their ballots.

The midterm elections hold great value because as President Duterte nears his end of term, there are still many national projects that are set in the pipeline, and prioritization and support will be key factors, which the incoming 12 senators shall immediately work on once they take a seat in the office.
Overseas Absentee Voters Invited to Asiana Hotel this Weekend
And since the UAE is among the countries with the most OFWs, the Philippine Consulate General announced that there will be another field voting held at the Asiana Hotel’s Dynasty Ballroom on April 26-27, 2019 from 9am to 9pm, as shared by the PCG Dubai’s FB Page.
Cortes also called on his compatriots to remind their friends and family members – those who are available and near the area — to come and vote.
Meanwhile, not far away from the location of the field voting is the JW Marriott Hotel where the 7th edition of the highly anticipated Philippine Property and Investment Exhibition (PPIE) is being held.
The PPIE will showcase major and well-established developers from the Philippines introducing exclusive deals at the event. OFWs can take advantage of this event and close great deals for an investment for themselves and their families back home.
With only a few days left before May, every OFW in the UAE is encouraged to participate in the election as it only comes once every 3 or 6 years. Furthermore, voting today will help secure the future of our families and the nation. It’s very important that we exercise our right to vote, as this is part of our duty as citizens.
