Working from home during these challenging times

Aghast in the midst of the pandemic fight, this feeding frenzy “COVID 19” seems to never break. While I am glad that the situation has eased up and residents are able to go outside for essentials, I can’t help but do my best to make the most of the time while staying at home.

The more time I spend indoors during this crisis, the more time I have to reflect and think of ways to improve myself. As I work from home, I have extra time on my hands.

I also urge everyone to maximize this current set-up. You can manage your budget, work, health at the comfort of your home.

Working from Home is the New Norm
Personally, I love it this way. I am a morning person and as I am used to waking up early, I get to plan and prioritize ahead. Standing out in the balcony sipping my early morning tea watching the birds chirping and flying off feeling the cool breeze just kicks off my day.

Confined and sitting in one corner, I am able to work comfortably, be my own boss and also have time to work out in the evening. After all, it’s imperative to preserve my mental and emotional well-being during this critical crisis. Keeping myself fit and active is something that I cannot live without.

Follow Rules
As most of us are in self-isolation, it is best that we do not think that we are depriving ourselves. We are not alone and every one of us is going through this process. We thank the UAE authorities for steadily opening the doors of shopping malls and centers to the public.

As stricter safe distancing measures kick in and people are required to wear masks when heading out, it is important that we follow stay updated with the rules. Having a long chat with my neighbors is the last thing on my mind and I try to avoid going out of my house unless for necessity.

Given the escalating pandemic, the recent measures are for the best. If the latest measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 are anything to go by, it is good to keep in mind that we’re all in this together. So better to stay safe and avoid going out especially to usually crowded places.

This does not mean we need to forsake all relationships and become a hermit just to keep safe. In the midst of this pandemic and dismal economic climate – where people might be increasingly worried about issues such as personal health and job safety – it is even more mandated to maintain and build robust friendships to stay sane. But let’s avoid shaking hands and hugging for some time till things get settled. This is a big lesson that the pandemic is teaching us.

Stay Clean and Maintain Good Hygiene
Remember, many life-threatening diseases are caused due to the lack of cleanliness, whether it is at home, schools, etc. If we follow proper hygiene and take care of our environment, all these health issues can be avoided and we can enjoy a jolly good life. Whether it is your room, school, garden, community, society, etc. we have a duty to keep it neat and tidy.

As a matter of fact cleanliness is not something that should be forced upon a person but it should be practiced and be a part of one’s lifestyle. A clean and well-groomed person will always succeed.

Lastly, cleanliness will also help us to be fit and be healthy, mentally, physically, and socially as well. So let’s not wait for sickness to spread and ruin our lives and the life of others. Remember “prevention is better than cure”.

Overall, I admire the efforts of the government in its precautionary measures against the virus and its care for its residents.

Stay blessed, calm, and keep yourself clean and safe.
