Royal Family Wedding Reception on Eid Holiday

On May 15, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, married Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saeed Bin Thani Al Maktoum.

His brothers also got married on the same day. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, wed Sheikha Maryam Bint Butti Al Maktoum. Likewise, Sheikh Ahmad Bin Mohammed, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, wed Sheikha Midya Bint Dalmouj Al Maktoum.

Based on a photo of the wedding invitation shared by Gulf News, the men’s wedding reception is set to take place on June 6, 4pm, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

Earlier, the sheikh’s governess also shared pictures as part of the wedding invitation. On her Instagram account, Mama Noora — as she is fondly called — posted photos of gift boxes that were sent to friends of the royal family:

The top of the box features the words “Happiness of the Al Maktoums” embroidered in gold thread. Inside was the delectable Omani halwa, a traditional Gulf treat made of wheat starch, sugar, cardamom, saffron, and nuts.

Aside from the male’s wedding reception, marriage celebrations in the Gulf also include a traditional henna party for the bride and her female guests, as well as another grand event wherein the bride wears a beautiful white gown.
