Filipino Bands Join Dubai Rock Concert to Promote Environmental Sustainability

Neutral Fuels, the company that has made net zero biofuels commercially viable, will be hosting the first-ever 100% environmentally sustainable rock concert with a net-zero carbon footprint.

The concert, titled “Rock the World/Save the Planet” will be coming to Dubai on November 15th with a fantastic line-up, including a major coup for the opening act: the winner of the Dubai ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition running throughout October for local Filipino bands.

Urbandub, Razorback, Cueshe, to Perform at ‘Rock the World/Save the Planet’ Concert in Dubai in November

According to Karl W Feilder, founder and CEO of Neutral Fuels, Rock the World/Save the Planet will show how 6,000 people can enjoy a great concert without contributing to climate change, as shared in a report by the Arabian Business.

Feilder shared, “Ordinarily, a rock concert with its massive sound, complex lighting, and special effects, emits tonnes of carbon into the atmosphere using energy from the national grid. Rock the World/Save the Planet is different. It will achieve net-zero carbon emissions by using Neutral Fuels B100 net-zero biofuel to power the entire event.”

And to neutralize unavoidable carbon emissions, such as flights for the bands coming to Dubai, Neutral Fuels is partnering with One Tree Planted. All unavoidable carbon expended on behalf of the event will be accurately measured and offset by planting trees to absorb every bit of it, he explained.

The concert will feature a solid lineup including a major coup for the opening act: the winner of the Dubai ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition running throughout October for local Filipino bands. The rest of the line-up features:

  • Cueshé – multi-awarded Filipino pop-rock band, and one of the most popular bands in the UAE. The band hit mainstream in 2005 with hit singles ‘Stay’ (favorite song at the first MYX Music Awards), ‘Sorry’, ‘Ulan’, ‘Can’t Let You Go’ and ‘24 Hours’, among others. The band has since released four albums for Sony Music and Sony BMG.
  • Urbandub – Hailing from Cebu, Philippines, the Pinoy band whose sound can be classified as a mix of alternative metal, OPM, and alternative rock have a solid track record for releasing six major albums: two for Lighter Records, two for EMI and two for MCA Music Inc.
  • Razorback (featuring BastiArtadi from Wolfgang) – this Filipino hard-rock band has an impressive portfolio which includes performing at full-scale concerts and opening for Silverchair, Rage Against the Machine, and Metallica, among others. They have released nine albums including the acoustic album ‘Acoustic Ng Ina’ in 2015.
  • Sandstörm – the Dubai rock cover band best known for performing the all-time great rock songs everyone loves to hear and sing along with. Concert-goers will also get to see Neutral Fuels founder and CEO, Karl Feilder, on the stage, as he is an entrepreneurial businessman by day, but he is also Sandstörm’s lead singer, who is as passionate about rock music as he is about saving the planet.

According to Feilder, it was inevitable that he would stage a net-zero carbon rock concert like Rock the World/Save the Planet.

‘This combines two of my great loves: rock music and using technology to solve world problems. This concert is going to be 6,000 enjoying mind-blowing rock without contributing to climate change,’ he shared.

The eco-rock star also playfully commented, “Now all we need is for our guests to use public transport to get to and from the concert.
