Fire Breaks out in 12-Storey Apartment in Abu Dhabi

A large fire broke out in a 12-storey residential building in Abu Dhabi on Friday evening (August 7, 2020). Authorities rushed the scene and was able to control it. Injuries and suffocation cases were reported and victims were sent to the hospital.

Abu Dhabi Civil Police put out a huge fire in Al Marwu Street, Al Mamora district, after residents of Al Nahyan area reported a loud bang in a building apartment’s 7th floor.

Fire trucks and rescue from the Civil Defense authority rushed to the scene, blocked off the area, and immediately evacuated the building residents to safety. The fire was controlled and prevented from spreading into other apartments.

Abu Dhabi Civil Defense teams took over a 12-storey apartment building in Abu Dhabi with suffocation injuries taken to hospital for treatment.

A report was received to the operating room this evening about a fire in a building and immediately the civil defense teams and the directorate of emergency and public safety moved to the Abu Dhabi police and started their missions to put out the fire that was created in a residential apartment on the seventh floor in the building and situation Efforts of civil defence personnel without the fire extended to apartment and nearby buildings, residents were safely evacuated from the building and cooling operations are still underway.
