UAE Eases Travel Procedures for Vaccinated Residents

Good news for UAE residents! The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) announced that travel norms have been eased for those vaccinated against Covid-19.

Vaccinated UAE Residents to Benefit From Easier Travel Procedures

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee had recently updated the travel procedures for passengers with the vaccine, the Khaleej Times reported.

We would like to announce the review and update of the National Travel Protocol to include easing of procedures for vaccinated with regard to isolation and quarantine, according to the destinations concerned,” said Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesperson of the NCEMA.

In line with this, vaccinated travellers from “green” countries were scheduled to undergo PCR testing at arrival starting Monday, 3 May 2021 and without quarantine on Day 6.

However, it is not clear as to what the new protocols are and how they will benefit the vaccinated population.

A PCR test must be taken upon arrival, quarantine must take five days and a PCR test must be taken again on day four when vaccinated travellers come from other countries.
